I look forward to reading it, Sean!

I would argue that being able to put isolation and loneliness into words is a form of community. :) New book looks really good. God bless the Mount Horeb Public Library forever and ever.

I still miss the old location. The one downtown. It felt better there. Pure.

That beanbag in the back by the bathrooms 😭

Congratulations on the new book. I’m already loving it, just from the description.

Thanks, Jack!

I’m in that period of terror between announcing and release, where I’m quietly rethinking every sentence I wrote.

I just hope people don’t hate it.

If it’s like your previous books, it will be perfect! I don’t know of anyone else in the publishing world that can turn out a flawless book like you can. No typos, no bad phrasing, and jokes for the intelligent reader.

Oh man. You're setting the bar way too high for me. I don't know about flawless. I just hope it lands with readers. This one has fewer jokes than anything I've ever written before. It's kind of dark actually. But we'll see if people like it.

Would you believe I coached an American football game against an Italian league team, in Bergamo, about 25 years ago?

Don’t remember seeing Connor though 😉

Dude, that's awesome! I would love to hear more about it. I'm fascinated with the Italian League ever since I read Grisham's novel.

Game went to OT, and we had to play the entire session on the same end of the field because the goalposts on the other side fell down in the middle of the fourth quarter 🤣

The Bergamo team’s RB was on one of the Redskjns Super Bowl teams back in the day. Super interesting trip.

That checks out. I read an account someplace where one of the games in the league had to be played with only one set of goal posts. So all field goals had to be made at that same end zone. They would just reverse field and reset whenever a kicking situation occurred.

I enjoyed reading this overview of your work. I think isolation is a theme we can all relate to from time to time. Best of luck with your new release!
